Recipe: Protein Bliss Balls

Simple, healthy and, oh so good!

Bliss balls are a fantastic snack and a super nice present for your loved ones, including yourself! My new year resolves to eat more healthy snacks instead of pure chocolate. ;-)

The base of Bliss Balls is always dates and oats. You can change the flavour quite easily. This year I made Peanut Butter Bliss (add Peanuts, shredded coconut & peanut butter), Cranberry-Orange X-mas ones (add cranberries, orange zest, cinnamon, cashews), and Cacao Bliss (add raw cacao, cashews, shredded coconut). Go and get creative! It's super simple once you get the hang of it.

Ingredients for the Peanut Bliss Balls:

  • a handful of dates

  • 1/2 cup oats

  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut

  • 2 soons of peanut putter

  • 1/2 cup of peanuts

Step-by-step:

  1. Let the dates soak in warm water for about 30min or overnight.

  2. Process the dry ingredients (nuts, oats & coconut).

  3. Add soaked (!) dates and the peanut butter.

  4. Blend again until smooth and sticky. If it is not sticky enough, add more dates. This is important so they do not fall apart.

  5. Roll 'em up!

  6. Refrigerate 30min

  7. Add topping of choice: Roll them in nshredded coconut or dip them into melted chocolate.

  8. Best stored in the fridge

  9. Enjoy!
